I was 14 stone, not very happy, not very confident
I spoke to Stefan when I was about 11 stone 10. Before I was going to the gym, didn’t really know what I was doing. I’ve never really thought about going with a personal trainer, or even joining the gym..so my biggest reservation was probably the price, so I thought I’ll try 6 weeks see how it goes and then I lost a stone in 6 weeks and decided that the money was well worth it!
Training with Stefan is interesting…every week is a different challenge. He makes it fun, he makes it interesting, but he’s also really caring about you, he pushes you harder than you’ve ever thought you could go…it’s been fun!
My biggest achievement is being a size 10 now from a size 16 -18 and just the confidence that comes with that. Also learning to use weights properly, doing lifts that I thought I’d never do!
It’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made signing up with SLR Fitness and Stefan so I would urge anyone that’s got any weight loss goals, or targets just do it, just go for it…it will be the best decision you’ve ever made! – Amie
My diet was really bad; I did try and have the odd salad here and there, late nights early mornings…too busy for the gym, too busy to exercise! My reservations were I’m going to be around people who train; I’m not going to be as good as them, going to be the slowest and holding people up – I’m not good enough to do this.
It’s been hard, he really does push you! My biggest achievement was going from a size 16 to a size 8-10 within one year. Within the first bootcamp I went from a size 16 to below a size 14. I’m a lot fitter, a lot healthier…I don’t get out of breath running up a flight of stairs. I’ve never ever been a size 8, it’s the first time in my life! It’s been one of the best decisions and if you’re at a point where you want to make change then this is for you! - Sasha
I had no motivation for the gym, I had no problem with the way I looked I just wanted to be healthier, there was nothing that made me want to go. I thought am I going to carry this through, it’s one thing paying money for something but am I actually going to do it or is this going to be like gym membership that you buy and never use.

Before I started I used to weigh about 10 and a half stone, always wanted to gain more weight, be more strong, be more agile. I was tired all the time, I didn’t feel healthy within myself. I contacted SLR fitness and requested for a program to be designed for myself.
My reservations were whether I was going to reach my goals because I’d been training for a while and wondering if it was worth my money. Stefan really helped me get more confidence, I started doing classes and wasn’t afraid to use the machines on my own. Before my moods were quite low; I wasn’t confident, I wasn’t happy with my body, I tried to eat healthy but Stefan trained me on what to eat what good carbs were and essential fats etc. My main reservations were the cost, but once I started training I realised the benefits really outweighed how much it was actually going to cost
It’s definitely been a lot of fun…it was hard work, sometimes I really thought that I couldn’t go on but Stefan really pushed me to my limits. I’ve been training with Stefan for over a year now, my biggest achievement would be losing body fat and also being able to do pull ups. I started out at 75kg, with my lowest at 55kg. My body fat when I started was around 30% and I dropped down to about 23%.
I would recommend Stefan, he will definitely help you get to your goals, he’ll talk to you about nutrition, he’ll talk to you about different exercises…I’ll definitely come back! - SOBIA
At 5’3, Kate started out at approximately 68kgs she was very adamant on dropping weight as she felt sluggish and had a holiday to look forward too. Kate started following my kick-start training regime which introduced HIIT training, intervals and resistance exercises she was a regular in my classes and followed my dietary advice. After nine months on and off and a lot of blood sweat and tears she has reduced her weight down to a impressive 54kgs. At 5’6, Bansri started out aT 121kgs she felt it was time to change her life completely as she wants to be an active Teacher in the future and felt that her weight was holding her back physically and mentally. Bansri since starting has fully indulged in my training techniques, eating regime, coming to my dreaded spin classes and putting 120% in every session. We have trained since JAN’13 ,9 months later she has got down to a impressive weight of 95kgs (4 stones loss) ,dropped two dress sizes and taken an average of 3inches off her body …..this is only half way point but by no means are we finished but i feel she deserves a huge CONGRATULATIONS :) BANSRI
“My core reason for starting PT sessions was to strengthen my body and reduce my pain. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 5 years ago which is a long-term condition characterised by chronic widespread pain all over your body. The pain in my back is more intense and prevents me from doing most things such as sitting. This is what I wanted to focus on so that when taking my exams I wouldn’t have to stand for the whole period of time. I was reluctant at first to have PT sessions because I could only think of all the pain I would experience from exercising. I womaned up and went for it. 5 months ago I would never let anyone hug me as that slight pressure would literally cause me pain but now I hardly feel that. I can now sleep for 4 hours straight without constantly waking up so I have more energy now. To top it all off I also lost weight lol another benefit! I still have a long way to go to get where I want with my back but the PT sessions so far have helped me so much and have made a big difference in my life. All thanks to Stefan’s hard work. I let myself go and put on some excess weight, my fitness levels had become really bad, I noticed it and so did others around me. Come 2013 I thought I need to turn things around, I wanted to drop my body fat and increase my fitness levels. I decided to have PT’s with Stefan and get that push that I needed. Stefan definitely put me through my paces, HIT training OMG its similar to insanity but boot camp style with all the added extras diet plan, training schedule etc i felt like i was on the biggest loser as i was getting pushed so hard when I thought I had no more to give and the body fat just kept shredding.:) Stefan showed me the best ways to reach my goals, with his sessions and my drive I lost a stone and increased my muscle mass also i become much more fit. There was a point in my life where I just totally gave up and didn’t wanna face myself in the mirror anymore. I hated it, I never felt so ugly. I even stopped going out the house. Putting on weight can bring down someone’s confidence and that’s exactly what happened to me.
I joined gym back in September 2011 and worked out really hard but I wasn’t motivated enough, I gave up too easily though I wanted to lose weight as quickly as possible but it just never seemed to happen
There I met the almighty stefannnnn, and watching him training others encouraged me to try it out. Personal training is not so easy with Stefan he can be so tough with his clients aiming to reach their goals and his helped me reach mine. I feel so much free, I feel beautiful and so active, I love the new me and I can’t thank Stefan enough. Dropping from a size 18 to a 12 is a really big thing for me thanks to Stefan i never gave up. Before i started training in the SLR Body Boom Bootcamp, i was used to my traditional routine of going to work, returning home, eating then sleeping. Basically no exercise other than walking a little on the weekends when taking kids to the park. I knew I was overweight and unhealthy and needed to do something about my health.
My reservations at first, was that I was conscious about my physical ability to perform in front of others. I knew my stamina and strength was very poor. I remember coming to the trial and lasting only 5min and then spending the rest of my time sitting on the side. I gave up at that point, however after a couple days passed, some encouragement from family gave me the courage to join BBB. Glad I joined, no regrets, very pleased with outcome.
Stefan in one word ‘Military’ seriously it was really good working with him. After couple sessions he knew exactly what my level of fitness was and knew how much to push me. He discussed personal goals and ensured he would help deliver results. We also had to do our part as we had to follow a program for eating and exercising during the 6weeks BBB. I learnt it wasn’t a big change; it was just self discipline, something we all struggle with.
I think my best achievement would be being pleased with myself that I successfully completed the entire 6 weeks program during BBB PART 1. Many a times I wanted to skip a morning session, but realising how great I felt after my previous sessions and noticing a change in my diet and losing weight, how can I miss a session?? I think your an excellent trainer. I believe u show the right attitude and make training fun! as someone who works in Sales and with people 24/7 its refreshing to interact with someone so similar. I feel that u always give constructive criticism and always offer a solution. I look forward to training with u as each session is individual and unique so I can really see what parts of my body I need to improve. I trained with Stefan for 6 sessions when I first joined Virgin Active last August. Stefan was very enthusiastic and committed to helping me to think differently about general fitness. As I hadn’t been gym for 5 years previous to joining it was hard work. The personal training sessions involved a variety of cardio & resistance activities. There was lots of motivation from Stefan. My general goal was to improve my general fitness and fit into a size 12- I’ve kept up with the gym and now am a Size 10. I went from being overweight to ending up being classed as clinically morbidly obese at the age of 23.
Whilst speaking to Stefan I saw his enthusiasm, drive and determination. He was honest about how challenging my training and journey was going to be. He was clear about his expectations. My main reservations about training was the amount of money it was going to cost to have a personal trainer. However that initial reservation has been completely shattered as training with Stefan has been worth every penny. Not only is he there to push you during your training, he is also there for emotional support. I would say he is an amazing trainer who has an innate ability to see people’s strengths and to pick them up when they are at their lowest. He truly cares about you and is dedicated to his clients. For me, he is a rock, key to helping me to change my life forever. Since November to now in May, I have lost 30 kg. I have dropped roughly four dress sizes and more importantly I am much happier. when I first started I was unable to walk without getting out of breath to now being able to run/ jog for a short while. My name is Jaspal Bhogal and my wonderful trainer was Stefan Lloyd. In total I had 13 personal training sessions with Stefan. The goal of my personal training was to strength my back as I developed Sciatica last summer. Also, I had never used the equipment and facilities in a gym and thought it would be better to work with someone. My personal training sessions goals was to strength my back by using gentle equipment and gentle stretches such as the bicycle, swimming and floor exercises (exercise ball).With Stefan’s help my back improved incredibly, my goals also changed, I wanted to improve my strength in my upper body (for my job) as well as my back and general fitness. Stefan introduced me to cardiovascular equipment and exercises such as the treadmill and boxing. For upper body strength I was introduced to free weights and weight resistance machines, slightly intimidated by the guys but Stefan made me feel comfortable. I was also recommended to join the Yoga and Pilate’s class, which I am still continuing with. From the experience, my back and my general fitness have definitely improved massively and I have also lost half a stone. I may return to having personal training sessions with Stefan in the future and I would certainly recommend the personal training sessions to others. He’s great! JASPAL BHOGHAL
